Information from the Intuit Web site.
If you’re using Quicken 2007 with Snow Leopard, you’ll probably want to update as soon as possible to Quicken 2007 R3 using the Quicken Certificate Updater.
From the site:
You must install the Quicken Certificate Updater in order to continue using online features in Quicken 2007, including downloading transactions and paying bills online. If you are currently experiencing an OL-249 errors, this patch will resolve those errors. By installing the Quicken Certificate Updater, your Quicken product will be updated to Release 3 (R3). Before updating to Release R3, you must first update to Release 2 using the steps below. After you have updated to R2, or if you are already using R2, click here to download and install the Quicken Certficate Updater.
You can learn more about the update and get other Quicken 2007 updaters at http://quicken.intuit.com/support/articles/using-quicken/patches-and-updates/4366.html
Yep, I discovered this today. The only way I figured it out was to Google the error message. Annoying.
Greg: Actually, I got notification two ways:
- When I used One Step Update to download transactions, there was a note in the results window.
- When I used the Check for Updates command under the Quicken 2007 menu it told me about the update.
I’m hoping that the next version of Quicken will automatically check for, download, and install updates (when an option to do so is enabled). Much of my other software does this and it’s extremely convenient.
I have Quicken 2006 on my iMac with OS 10.5.8.
If I update to Snow Leopard, will Quicken 2006 run normally? (Currently, I only run Quicken as a checkbook program with category sorts for my tax accountant.)
Or, will I have to buy a new version, or look elsewhere?
I’ve used Quicken for many years, both PC and Mac versions. I’m currently using Mac 2007. I’m not very happy with the situation that I find myself in where I can’t access my accounts before I jump through several aggravating hoops that don’t seem to be working!
