I give ecto a try.
While I know I said I was giving MarsEdit a second try, I don’t want to limit my options. So I downloaded and installed ecto, which we also included in our book. Miraz wrote the Blogging Tools chapter, so I didn’t really get a chance to work much with any of the blogging tools she wrote about. This is my first test drive of ecto.
So far, I like what I see. I’m still trying to figure out how to add links (I found two ways so far and don’t like either one). And images. But I like the ability to create custom tags and shortcut. And the built-in support for Amazon.com links. Spelling checker. Word count feature. Etc.
We’ll see how this works for me. I’m going offline tomorrow and need a composition tool that won’t drive me nuts while I’m away.
WordPress, offline, editing, blogging, ecto
