I am running iPhoto 4.0 but have now upgraded to Tiger 10.4.7. I would love to update iPhoto, but don’t want all the other stuff within iLife. Is there anywhere that I can buy just iPhoto 6.0?
Not that I know of.
But iMovie is kind of cool — you can use it to make QuickTime slide shows of your iPhoto shots using effects to add motion. I’m not sure how much you want to do that, though. I admit that I don’t do it very often.
I agree that GarageBand and iDVD have limited use for the average Mac OS user. I don’t think I’ve spent more than 30 minutes with iDVD (I just don’t have TIME to make DVDs) and only just began using GarageBand for podcasting.
Apple should break up the iLife package and offer the apps individually for $39 each (or something like that). That would make iLike (the package) a good deal while making it possible for the folks who don’t want all that stuff to get just the app they want and save a few bucks.
